Introduction


Sahara Foundation is a national level non-profit making, non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 2009. It is registered in District Administration Office (DAO) of Kathmandu and affiliated in Social Welfare Council (SWC) as an NGO. Sahara Foundation intends to make the change into the life of children, youth and women as well marginalized group for equal access to resources and decision-making opportunities. It provides and promotes the educational & school enhancement program, socio-economic empowerment of women and youth as well as take care of health and sanitation. In addition, Sahara Foundation has been supporting the education program through scholarships. In addition to this, the foundation is involved in entrepreneurship development. Children, youth and women are at the heart of everything we do.
On the other hand, it works for promoting equitable societies by addressing the social issues of marginalized, oppressed, disadvantaged and minority groups & communities. Sahara Foundation consists of nine dedicated, highly professional and experienced board and a full-time staff in the development sector. It has been involved in relief and management before, during and after natural calamities (DRR). We are also focusing our projects in the marginalized community especially Muslims, Dalit, Chepang/Praja, Raute and other marginalized groups. Our endeavors are making changes in the lives of women and youth to unite them into a rope for the betterment of society.
